Gloucester MP Plays snooker ace Ronnie O'Sullivan

Gloucester Citizen - Thursday - November 26 2009

Gloucester MP Parmjit Dhanda got to test his pool skills against the best in the world.

He lined up against Ronnie O'Sullivan, currently the country's number one ranked snooker player, to raise money for charity.

He raised £365 for Gloucestershire's Royal British Legion, and said he was "honoured" to play Ronnie.

He said: "Ronnie O'Sullivan is incredibly quick and capable of clearing a table in minutes.

"He let me make the break and I then potted three balls, but Ronnie managed to clear the rest in two minutes. It was a great experience.

"I was also able to sit down and have a chat with him. He's such a down to earth man. It really was a pleasure to meet him."

Ronnie O'Sullivan is renowned for his rapid playing style and is often nicknamed 'The Rocket'.

Patricia Murphy refereed the match.

She was recently chosen to officiate at this month's World Pool Masters in Las Vegas.
